Amaya Burgaña

Psychology
My name is Amaya, and I am an expat therapist with multicultural experience. I was born and raised in Venezuela, where I started my psychology studies. Later, I lived in Spain, where I completed my Bachelor's in Psychology, with a focus on Health Psychology. In 2019, I moved to the Netherlands,
where I obtained my Master's in Clinical Psychology from Utrecht University.
Having experienced my fair share of adjustments, I’ve learned firsthand about the challenges of moving to a new place and adapting to a new culture and language.
Although it can be a tough journey, it can also be incredibly rewarding.
My experience as an expat has fueled my passion for helping others navigate similar transitions. I know how important it is to feel supported and understood during times of change. That’s why I strive to create a warm, empathetic, and judgment-free space in therapy where we can explore not only your emotions and thoughts but also your values; what’s important to you and which actions you can take to live with more purpose and meaning.
Besides my work, I love learning about different cultures, languages and traditions, as well as alternative ways of understanding health and well-being. I enjoy reading, gardening and spending time with my loved ones.
